This belt allows the wearer to retrieve and drink one potion as a Free Action once per combat. It does not work for other liquids like oils or salves. The word “Potion” must be printed at the top of the token for it to work with this item. E.g., it cannot be used to drink from a Flask of Survival as a Free Action because a flask is not a potion.

This belt only works for its owner. As a Free Action, it allows its owner to drink a potion. It cannot be used to instantly feed another person a potion. This belt does not prohibit you from feeding another person a potion, but it will not enable you to do so as a Free Action.

Handy Holy Belt cannot be used to make an attack with an alchemical weapon as a Free Action–even if the alchemical weapon has the word “Potion” in its name.

Note: Only one Free Action is allowed per round. Therefore, the effect from this item cannot be combined in the same round with another Free Action. E.g., you could not drink a potion as a Free Action using the Handy Holy Belt and coat a weapon with an oil using Pouch of Tulz as a Free Action in the same round. You could drink the potion as a Free Action and coat your weapon as a Standard Action, but that’s all you could do that round.

If the wearer is a cleric or paladin, they have the option to transfer the healing effect to another living character–an effect cannot be transferred if the target of the transfer is dead. If the cleric/paladin wearer of this belt has a bonus to healing potions they drink, that bonus does not get passed to the other character if the effect is transferred.

If the healing effect is transferred, only the target of the transfer gets the healing. The cleric/paladin gains nothing other than the good feeling one gets when helping a fellow party member.

If a potion restores lost HP and some other effect(s), only the healing gets transferred. Here’s an example: a paladin wearing this belt and an ally are both Chilled. If the paladin drinks a Potion Warm Spirits and transfers the effect, the ally heals 1 HP but remains Chilled and the paladin stops being Chilled but doesn’t regain any HP.

Potions that restore life cannot be transferred via this belt.

Drinking the potion and transferring its effect simultaneously occur as a single Free Action. One may not fast-drink a potion on one round and then transfer a potion effect on a different round.
