The wearer may equip a shield while wielding a 2-handed Melee weapon. These bracers do not grant the ability to equip a shield while wielding any kind of Ranged weapon.

Even though these bracers do not grant the ability to equip a shield while wielding a Ranged weapon, they don’t prohibit it either. If the wearer has an Archer’s Buckler, they could equip an Archer’s Buckler in their Ranged offhand slot. However, Shield Maiden Bracers do not allow an Archer’s Buckler to be equipped in the Melee offhand slot.

The shield equipped via these bracers must be one of the shields barbarians can already use. I.e., if the barbarian can’t otherwise use the shield, these bracers won’t change that.
